E212: Childhood

Image
E212 Childhood This will be my third module with The Open University. My first impressions when opening the package was that of shock. 4 books, with around 310 pages each - a big step up from previous modules I have studied. E212 is a OU Level 2 coarse, which is equivalent to SCQF level 9 and FHEQ Level 5. It has four TMAs and one EMA. Wish me luck, I will keep you posted.

E109: Exploring perspectives on young children's lives and learning

E109: Exploring perspectives on young children's lives and learning I started E109 in October 2016 and I completed it alongside another 60 credit module. The module is an OU level 1 module, which is equivalent to SCQF 7 and FHEQ 4 and it is 60 credits. I am writing this review after I have compelted and passed the module, so it will be shorter than future reviews.  As E109 was one of my first experiences with the Open University and higher education in general, I felt like I didn't have much to compare it too, however since completing and passing the module I think I have a good idea what the standard is and I can compare it to another module I passed at the same time.  The module comes with 3 books: Starting with the child, Responding to the Child and Making provision for early childhood. You are expected to complete 4 TMA's and 1 EMA. These are all in essay format and range from 1000 words to 2500.  I found E109 the least enjoyable of both modules I hav...

E102: An introduction to childhood studies and child psychology E102 was the first module I signed up for and started with The Open University. I am writing this after I have completed and passed the module so it will be brief compared to current modules. I applied in July 2015 and started in October of that year. Unfortunately, I was very unprepared and had a bit of a wobble, I withdrew from the module the day before the module start date. A decision I spent the next 12 months regretting.  I signed up the following year and began the coarse in October 2016, I also decided that I would make up for lost time and complete another module along side this one. The module is a OU level 1 module which is equivalent to SCQF level 7 and FHEQ 4. It comes with one module book which has 14 chapters and you are expected to complete 4 TMA's during the coarse, one of which is marked as an exam. The TMA's are in essay form and they range from 1000 words to 25...
